1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ResumeLift ("the Service"), operated at resumelift.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ResumeLift is an AI-powered resume generation tool. You upload a LinkedIn PDF export, and our system uses Claude AI by Anthropic to generate formatted resume styles and optional cover letters. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Tokens and Payments

The Service operates on a token-based system. Your first resume generation may be free; subsequent generations require tokens purchased through our payment provider (Stripe). All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.

5. User Content

You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload (your LinkedIn PDF) and the resumes generated from it. By using the Service, you grant us a temporary, limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of generating your resumes. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not store your uploaded content or generated resumes.

6. AI-Generated Content

Resumes and cover letters are generated using artificial intelligence (Claude AI by Anthropic). While we strive for high-quality output guided by professional best practices, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or formatting issues. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all generated content before using it for job applications or any other purpose.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that infringes on the rights of others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI prompts or algorithms
• Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the Service
• Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as entirely human-written in contexts where disclosure is required

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and AI prompts, is owned by ResumeLift and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResumeLift shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of employment opportunities, inaccuracies in generated content, or service interruptions. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated resumes will result in employment. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Since we do not store your resume data, there is no user content to delete upon termination.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.
